Adding Spice to your day: STANDING IN THE EVIL DAY

Text: “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13

The evil day is when all hell breaks loose against you; it’s when the doctor suddenly announces that there is trouble in your body! The evil day is when challenges suddenly arise in your office or in your business. The evil day is an expression of the day of crisis. Many of us have come across such days and will still come across them in various forms. The ability to stand in that day is crucial to a believer. Anyone can be bold and cool when everything is working fine; but the true test of what you are made of is when a day like that shows up.

The ability to stand in the “evil day” will be determined by what we have programmed into our spirit over time. The standing in the “evil day” will come from our spirit. This is why, as a Christian, it’s so important that you learn the word of God in the days of peace; when everything is cool. Because you may never tell when you’ll need it.

Its not wise to wait until trouble strikes before you start praying and trying to act up your faith. Faith and desperation are two different things. In most cases when we meet an “evil day” unprepared we just push the panic button, out of desperation. If we don’t grow our faith ahead we will just end up panicking in the day of adversity. Faith is a response that comes from our spirit. A student does not prepare for an exam in the exam hall. He should have done that weeks and months ahead of the exam. The ability to “stand” in the exam hall will be determined by the preparations he had done before entering the hall. So also is life. Unlike school exams life does not give us a timetable to know when the exams will show up. When you are faced with a challenge in your life rise up to it in the name of the Lord. Refuse to bow; STAND!

PRAYER:
In the name of Jesus I take a stand of victory against every onslaught of the enemy. I refuse to go down.
