GOD’S DESIGN DISTORTION
Text:”...Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.” Judges 16:20
The distortion of God’s original design for man began in the Garden of Eden. The devil succeeded in deceiving the first man and woman into accepting what was far below God’s expectation for their lives. From that point on they came short of the glory of God. The enemy of our soul has not given up on his mission to kill, steal and destroy God’s design for a man. You must be aware of this or else he will take advantage of you. He knows that the best of life is actually in God’s design for us. He may not succeed in making us completely abandon God but if he can get close to making us reject God’s design it’s as good as making sure that God’s purpose does not come to pass.
The first means of distorting God’s design for a man is a life of sin. Every compromise in our lives will prevent the fulfilment of God’s design for our lives. King Saul was highly privileged to be the first king over Israel; he took for granted divine instructions until he lost the throne. He gave logical reasons for his actions but that was never good enough to convince God. He was rejected from God’s design for his life. Samson was such a great warrior. He was anointed from the womb but sin distorted God’s design for him.
Satanic distortion also takes place as we begin to embrace alternatives. Nothing else in life can be as good as what God intended for us from the foundation of the earth. Don’t be deceived by things that“...Seemeth right...” (Prov 14:12; 16:25). The scriptures tells us that “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise....”(Gen 3:6). Don’t build your life on what your eyes can see; build it on what you know is God’s intent and plans for your life.
PRAYER:
Lord I declare that nothing else will be more appealing to me other than your design for my life.
