Adding spice to your day: SPIRITUAL LAMENESS – PART ONE

Text: “Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees: And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it be healed.” Heb 12:12-13

I want to welcome you to this New Month. I’m sure God’s word will bless you this month. We spend lots of money taking care of our physical health. Millions of naira is spent yearly to stay fit physically. But more serious is the spiritual state of our lives. If we are as concerned with our spiritual life as we are the physical life, the world will be a better place. The word ‘lame’ in our opening verse is not a physical one but a spiritual one. Lameness here means spiritually sick.

The poorest man on the face of the earth is a man that has no connection with God. He may have money, but he is spiritually bankrupt.. The implications of been spiritually sick has eternal consequences. This is why we cannot take this for granted. We need healing spiritually when we notice the following:
When you don’t have any desire for the things of God. When you have to be reminded over and over again about spiritual things, something is wrong.

When living right is a struggle. You find yourself making more compromise than taking a stand for what is right.

Obvious lack of desire for prayer and the word of God. This is the basis of a vibrant Christian life. When those things are lacking the Christian life is at a risk.

The spiritual state of a man affects every area of his life. When the spiritual base of a man is weak his entire life will be weak. When the spiritual life is strong it will also have a direct effect on everything else. As a student when you are spiritually sound you’ll be academically sound. Take charge of your spiritual state it will enhance everything else in your life.

PRAYER:
Lord heal every lameness in my spiritual life. I receive healing in my spirit, soul and body.
