Text: “And hath raised us up together, and made
us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:6
It’s my sincere prayer that the eyes of your understanding will be
enlightened afresh as we go through our lesson for today. Every statement in
our opening verse today is loaded. The scripture clearly explains the position
of a believer. The life of a believer is purely a life of faith. We function
primarily by receiving God’s word and endorsing it as so.
God had made us to sit together in heavenly places in Christ
Jesus. It does not matter where you are sitting right now; on a bed, on a chair
or wherever. That is a physical sitting, but in the realm of the Spirit we are
seated with Christ in the heavenly places. I want you to note that sitting is a
position of rest. If someone comes to fight you it will require that you stand
up and fight. There is a big difference between sitting, walking and running.
We are sitting; we are not fighting. The fight of faith that God requires from
us is from a position of rest. We are not fighting to win; we have won already.
What we do in spiritual warfare is to enforce the reality of our victory.
The heavenly place is the description of where we are seated. We
are physically on the earth but we are seated in heaven. Heaven is a place of
triumph; it’s a place where defeat does not exist. We don’t have to wait until
we get to heaven to experience all that heaven represent. We are in heaven
already; the experiences should start from now. The ultimate purpose of God is
that his will be established on the earth just as it’s done in heaven. We are
the agents through God works to establish heaven’s culture on the earth. It’s
such an awesome privilege. As we share the gospel and live our lives in the
gospel of Christ the dominion of heaven on earth is been established through
us. I want to ask you to stop fighting and start resting; your battles are
over. There is an eternal victory credited to your account at calvary. Please
enjoy your victory today.
PRAYER:
I declare rest over my life today. I enter into
God’s rest over my life today. Rest over all that has to do with me
