Text: “The wind bloweth
where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence
it cometh, and whither it goeth; so is everyone that is born of the Spirit. “
John 3:8
Birth is a very important word in humanity. Every time you hear
that word there is a picture of something been born. To born is to bring forth
something that never existed before. “Born of the Spirit” describes the process
of spiritual birth. There are two major forms of birth; the natural birth and
the spiritual birth. John 3:6 says “That
which is born of the flesh is flesh...” This is the natural birth. The later part
says “...and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” This is the spiritual
birth.
Everyone on the face of the earth are born naturally but not
everyone is born spiritually. It therefore means that everyone not born of the
Spirit is not yet alive spiritually. The scripture tells us that we are “...alive unto God through Jesus Christ our
Lord.” Romans 6:11.
The natural birth connects us to humanity while the spiritual
birth connects us to divinity; we are connected to God. When a child is born
naturally the child automatically carries the genotype of the parents. Whatever
was wrong in the parents can also flow to the child through the bloodline. But
thank God we have a greater bloodline; the blood of Jesus. By the spiritual
birth we are connected to all that is right in God. Whatever was wrong through
the natural bloodline has been made right through the Jesus bloodline.
The other phrase that is used to describe been born of the Spirit
is “born of God”, 1 John 5:4 says “For
whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world...” This was described
earlier in 1 John 4:4 as “Ye are of God...” This simply means that we originate
from God. We came out of God. We are complete; we are flawless; we are perfect.
Everything that comes out of God is good. There is no way we can remain
defeated and down in life. Your life is divine.
CONFESSION:
My life and everything
about me is anchored in God. The life of God is flowing in me. My life is
divine.
