HIS STRENGTH: OUR VICTORY

Text: “That he would grant you according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” Ephesians 3:16

For the purpose of this study let’s identify three (3) major types of strength. We have mental strength; this comes from rigorous study and academic pursuits. We have physical strength which is majorly enhanced by physical exercise and the rest. Thirdly we have inner strength.  The most important of them all is the inner strength. It’s a strength that comes from within. The state of our recreated human spirit is what determines our inner strength.

The inner strength actually comes from the Spirit of God living inside us. He strengthens us from within; with this strength inside us we can stand up to anything and everything. It does not matter how physically or mentally strong you are if your inner strength fails everything else will fail. The most unfortunate thing about life is that we spend so much time and resources building our mental and physical strength and completely neglecting the inner strength.

Christ in us strengthens us. We must become very conscious of his presence in us. Apostle Paul said “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13. This consciousness of the indwelling Christ infuses strength inside a believer. God himself is our strength; a very present help in times of trouble. When everything else fails his strength in us will never fail.

The strength of the Lord inside us is pronounced as we wait on the Lord in a fast. This enhances our consciousness of his presence inside us. It also helps us to be free from whatever hinders the free flow of his strength in us. Let’s take advantage of his strength in us; be conscious of it. By human strength shall no man prevail. King Saul had so much of strength that comes from weapons of war but could still not fight the giant. David only came with God’s strength inside. He was so convinced and bold about the victory. Be conscious of this every day.

PRAYER:
The strength of the Lord is working inside me. I’m bold and courageous. I can handle whatever comes my way.
