Temptation is part and parcel of our Christian journey. It is universal in nature. But by redemption we have been empowered to overcome temptation. For whatsoever is born of God, overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4  

As one can fall into temptation without his permission, no one can walk in sanctification without his personal engagement.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT TEMPTATION:

1. Temptations are real. 1 Corinthians 10:13, James 1:14

2. Everyone can be tempted. Genesis 39:7, Luke 4:1-13

3. God is not the tempter. James 1:13-14. Satan is the root of all evil/temptation.

4. God is faithful. 1 Corinthians 10:13, Hebrew 11:11

5. You can overcome every temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13

We cannot fall into temptation without our permission. Temptation is very subtle in nature. It is deceitful. Godliness may be costly, but the end result is priceless. Genesis 41:40-44, Daniel 1:8; 6:22-23, Job 2:8
