Text: “And Caleb stilled the people before
Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to
overcome it.” Numbers 13:30
Twelve spies were sent
out to see the land of promise. From their report it was quite clear that
giants were in that land. These were obvious facts that we can see on ground.
The ten spies made the giants their focus and that was why they were swallowed
in the wilderness.
The faith life is a life
that sees beyond what is obvious to the natural life. Caleb and his colleague
saw the same thing in the physical but refused to focus on that. They made God
their focus. We walk by truth and not by facts. We walk by faith and not by
sight- sensory perception.
The faith life is a life
that sees God’s possibilities in every circumstances of life. The faith life
refuses to allow the circumstances of life to dictate the direction of our
existence. We become entrapped in the facts of life when they become more real
to us more than what God had said to us. Whatever we focus on takes the center
stage of our lives and then dictates the outcome of our lives.
The faith life sees God
as more than enough in the most bankrupt situations of life. Even when we
completely run out of strength and resources we understand the sufficiency that
exists in God. There is really nothing we could have done or accomplish on our
own, but because God is for us and with us we can break the records and
accomplish the unimaginable.
The faith life takes
steps in the direction of what God said. If God has promised you something he
must have gone ahead to make the crooked places straight. He does not promise
us what he cannot deliver. His promises are not based on our capacity but on
his unlimited capacity.
CONFESSION:
I live a life of faith. I see God everywhere and
in everything. I see possibilities in my life.
